Welcome to the Le Grand Union High School District. Our small rural district serves the communities of Planada, Plainsburg and Le Grand through our Le Grand High School and our Granada High School. We are a strong partner with the three separate elementary school districts in these communities, with joint meetings of our school boards held at least twice each year. Teacher collaboration and curriculum articulation and alignment k-12 are important to this partnership with meetings held every month. With strong site leadership from our principals, student test scores continue to improve.
In an effort to generate additional revenue, the Le Grand Union High School District is looking at how to better utilize many of its assets. Therefore, the District is currently forming what is referred to as a "7-11 Committee." If you would like to participate and are qualified, we invite you to apply to be a member of the Committee.
LGUHSD will be having an open house of the new bus barn, located on McKee St, south of the AG buildings. Come stop by on May 18, 2022, from 10 am - 2 pm to see what your tax dollars have accomplished!
Yesterday, February 28, 2022, Governor Newsom and Dr. Mark Ghaly (state health department) provided an update on the masking protocols as it pertains to public schools and school districts. As of March 12th, students and staff will no longer be required to wear a face-covering indoors. This applies to both vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals. The state does still strongly recommend masking at schools but leaves that up to local jurisdictions (i.e. county health departments, school districts). MCDPH has confirmed they will not require masks in schools.
LGUHSD will be dropping the mask mandate effective March 12th. Those who wish to continue to wear a mask may do so, and we encourage them to do so. For more detailed information, please click "Read Full Story":
